Following amendments to the securities laws in Canada and the introduction of National Instrument 31-103, effective on September 28, 2009, Realty Investments Corporation was required to become licensed as an Exempt Market Dealer (EMD) and an Investment Funds Manager (IFM) in our principal jurisdiction of Alberta by September 2010. Realty Investments Corporation was required to get these licenses in order to continue to sell shares in the Mortgage Investment Corporation, to make decisions in the sale or purchase of mortgages for the Mortgage Investment Corporation portfolio or to deal in Syndicated Mortgages.

Realty Investments Corporation is registered as the mortgage broker, as required by the Real Estate Council of Alberta, and a decision was made to incorporate a new company to hold the EMD and IFM designations and to report to the Alberta Securities Commission. The new company is called Eagles Edge Capital Corporation and the directors and shareholders are the same as Realty Investments Corporation.
